Cosmos Guides Are Converging on One First Choice: Station, Alliance or Orbital Base?

Five independent channels published station-claiming or orbital-building help within ten hours. The useful first decision is not which feature looks biggest; it is whether you want a managed hub, a shared alliance network or a free-floating construction project.

The overlap supports a first-project decision, not a fastest-progression route, economy verdict or claim that one Cosmos system is best for every save.

Capture boundary

YouTube search snapshot captured Sep 10, 2026 at 09:27 Beijing time. Five non-live station or orbital-building videos from five independent channels were displayed as three to ten hours old.

The first wave of help is about ownership and construction

Xaine's World, KhrazeGaming, SurvivalBob, Scottish Rod and HeRo2u each published a non-live guide or first look centered on claiming stations, building orbital bases or both. Their visible counts ranged from 2,037 to 19,967 at capture, but the useful evidence is the repeated task across five independent channels—not the size of any one count.

That convergence says players are trying to turn a very broad update into a manageable first objective. It does not establish a universal order, a complete cost table or the long-term value of owning a station.

Choose the project that matches the work you want to repeat

Hello Games confirms three distinct structures. A station director can customize and expand a station; a director can found an alliance while other players can join alliances through owned stations; and orbital construction can begin on an asteroid platform or in an empty volume of space with a deep-space base computer.

That makes the first choice behavioral. Pick station direction if you want to shape a public hub, alliance work if you already have people and systems to coordinate, or orbital construction if the building problem itself is the reward. Treat creator shortcuts as route hypotheses until you reproduce their requirements in your own save.

  • Verify that the Cosmos update is installed before troubleshooting missing systems.
  • Choose one first project and record the actual prerequisite that blocks it.
  • Do not commit alliance plans before checking who can found, join and maintain the network.

The feature boundaries are official; the optimal order is not

Hello Games' Update 7.0 page confirms station direction, alliances, orbital construction, deep-space outposts, salvage and the new star map. It also says station directors may found an alliance, players may join up to three alliances, and alliance activity feeds leaderboards.

The official material does not publish one best opening route, a complete station economy or a guaranteed payoff for every base location. The current videos are valuable because they reveal the first friction points; they do not replace the live rules in the installed build.

Editorial read: start with the project whose repeated work you want, then use the first real blocker—not the loudest thumbnail—to choose the next guide.
