Dragonwilds 1.0 Guides Are Splitting Launch Prep Between Preserving Progress and Starting Clean

Three independent channels published a current beginner, restart or launch-preparation guide ahead of the September 15 release. The practical task is to preserve what already exists, verify the platform and purchase path, then decide whether the first 1.0 session continues Early Access progress or teaches the opening from zero.

The sample supports a progress-versus-restart decision. It cannot prove the final 1.0 balance, console performance, exact save migration outcome on every platform or one fastest opening route.

Capture boundary

YouTube public-search snapshot captured Sep 13, 2026 at 09:06 Beijing time. Three non-live Dragonwilds start or launch-preparation videos from three independent channels were displayed as ten hours, one day and two weeks old.

The same launch is producing opposite instructions

Kodeations told returning players not to start from zero, Coryano published a complete beginner do-this-first route, and Spopes framed a broader September 15 preparation guide. Their visible counts ranged from 342 to 37,070 at capture.

That disagreement is useful because it exposes two audiences: an Early Access player protecting a developed save and a console or Game Pass player entering Ashenfall for the first time. It does not establish that either route is universally faster or safer.

Preserve the save, verify the platform, then choose the teaching route

Jagex's support FAQ says the team is working to avoid progress wipes through updates and the full release where possible. That is not a promise to delete nothing under every circumstance, so preserve the current save and wait for the installed 1.0 build before making an irreversible reset.

For a first-time player, a clean opening guide is appropriate. For an Early Access player, first verify the live version, platform ownership and save availability, then continue unless the goal is specifically to relearn the full Kuldra's Saga from the beginning.

  • Back up or preserve the current save before September 15.
  • Confirm the platform and entitlement; Steam and the Jagex Launcher are separate purchases and installs.
  • Choose continuation for retained progress or a fresh start for the complete teaching arc—without treating a creator title as an official wipe notice.

The release frame is official; launch-day outcomes are still pending

Jagex confirms a September 15 exit from Early Access across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The 1.0 milestone concludes Kuldra's Saga, the price remains £24.99 or $29.99, and post-launch updates are planned.

The reviewed official pages do not guarantee identical console performance, a specific migration result for every save or a universal opening build. Those need the released version and platform-specific evidence after September 15.

Editorial read: preserve first, decide second. A beginner guide is a teaching route, not evidence that returning players must erase progress.
