What happened
Nintendo of America opened a time-limited Game Trial for the full Nintendo Switch version of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Eligible Nintendo Switch Online members can download and play from September 24 at 10:00 AM PT until September 30 at 11:59 PM PT.
Nintendo also lists a separate 70% digital discount ending October 7 at 11:59 PM PT. Progress made during the trial carries into a purchase, and a Nintendo Account mission awards 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points for trying the Game Trial.
Direct answer: US Nintendo Switch Online members can play the full Nintendo Switch version of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown from September 24 at 10:00 AM PT through September 30 at 11:59 PM PT. The save carries into a purchase, the separate 70% sale ends October 7, and a trial mission awards 100 Platinum Points.
The practical change: Download the Nintendo Switch Game Trial with a US-region eligible Nintendo Switch Online membership before the September 30 cutoff; treat the October 7 sale as a separate deadline.
What is confirmed
- The verified offer is for eligible US Nintendo Switch Online members and the Nintendo Switch edition; it is not presented as a native Switch 2 edition or a worldwide trial.
- The full game is playable during the trial window and the save can continue after purchasing the game.
- The free-play window closes September 30 at 11:59 PM PT, while the 70% sale closes October 7 at 11:59 PM PT.
- A Nintendo Account is required to receive and redeem the 100 Platinum Point mission reward, and Nintendo's membership and regional terms still apply.
What this means for players
Members can test the complete campaign rather than a restricted demo, then decide whether the retained save and separate sale justify a purchase.
Players should not confuse the two deadlines: access to the trial ends one week before the sale, and neither date makes the game permanently free.
What is still unconfirmed
The checked announcement does not establish a global trial, a native Nintendo Switch 2 edition, permanent access after September 30, the same discount in another region, or eligibility without a qualifying Nintendo Switch Online membership.
What to do next
- 01Open the Nintendo eShop with the eligible US-region account and locate the Game Trial rather than the normal purchase button.
- 02Start the full game before September 30 at 11:59 PM PT and complete the linked mission if you want the 100 Platinum Points.
- 03Keep the trial save on the system if you plan to buy; Nintendo says that progress carries forward into the purchased game.
- 04If buying, evaluate the separate 70% digital offer before October 7 at 11:59 PM PT and confirm the price on your own account.
