Gears of War: E-Day goes gold; pre-install starts September 29

What happened

The Coalition announced gold status and the preload schedule on September 17.

It also published final launch PC specifications as a graphic.

The practical change: Check your edition and platform before planning around the early access date; inspect the source's PC specification graphic for hardware requirements.

What is confirmed

• Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam are named for pre-install.
• October 1 access is for Premium Edition; Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass access starts October 6.
• The article's specification image is the current official PC requirement source.

What this means for players

Players can schedule the preload in their own timezone.

The edition distinction avoids mistaking the early access date for the general release.

What is still unconfirmed

The announcement does not guarantee an uninterrupted download, a universal local unlock hour beyond its stated UTC time, or performance on every PC configuration.

What to do next

1. 01
Confirm your entitlement and storage space.
2. 02
Convert the 15:00 UTC times to local time.
3. 03
Read the official PC specification image before buying hardware.
