How to start Lies of P: Overture
The short answer: purchase and install Overture, reach Chapter 9 in the base game and repair the Hotel Stargazer. Once those conditions are met, you can enter the Forgotten Time and begin the DLC.

The expansion is a separate purchase and requires the base game.

An earlier save cannot enter the DLC. Continue the base story until the official chapter requirement is met.
- 03Repair the Hotel Stargazer
This story-state requirement must be complete before the entrance becomes available.
- 04Enter the Forgotten Time
Use the newly available access after the Hotel Stargazer is restored.
Why Overture will not start
Do not keep searching the hotel for a hidden entrance until all three official gates are true. Check them in this order:

What Overture officially adds
Overture carries Geppetto's puppet into Krat before the Puppet Frenzy, following the trail of Lea and connecting hidden events in the past with the wider story. This page keeps boss names, endings and character outcomes out of the access and preparation route.
Prepare before entering the Forgotten Time

Do not farm an invented recommended level. The official entry gate is Chapter 9, and the game now provides three selectable difficulty levels. Use the first DLC encounters to decide whether the build, fundamentals or difficulty setting needs adjustment.
The launch update also changed the base game
The Overture launch patch was more than a DLC switch. These current-version changes affect every guide on this site:
- Three difficulty levels: change them at any time under Settings, Gameplay and Difficulty.
- P-Organ Recalibration: remove or equip individual Quartz, or reset the whole P-Organ at the Saintess of Mercy Statue or Gold Coin Tree.
- Quick Wishstone use: this is now a default ability rather than a P-Organ choice.
- Held Ergo access: add Ergo from the Bag in leveling, shops, Weapon Upgrade and Alter Handle menus.
- Leveling access: use Stargazers outside the hotel; the Hotel Stargazer can level from Chapter 9 onward.
- Rare Ergo warning: the game warns before selling or using it, reducing accidental loss.
Boss Rematch is separate from Overture access
Battle Memories and Death March unlock only after completing the main story and reaching any ending. They are then available at the Hotel Stargazer.

Do not wait for an ending to start the DLC: the story access gate is Chapter 9. Do not expect rematches at Chapter 9: their gate is any completed ending.

When can I enter Overture?
After purchasing the DLC, reach Chapter 9 and repair the Hotel Stargazer. You can then enter the Forgotten Time.
Do I need to finish Lies of P first?
No. Finishing an ending unlocks the boss-rematch modes, but the Overture story itself becomes available in Chapter 9 after repairing the Hotel Stargazer.
Can I change difficulty after starting?
Yes. Choose from three levels and change the selection at any time under Settings, Gameplay and Difficulty.
Does Overture add weapons and Legion Arms?
Yes. NEOWIZ officially describes new weapon combinations and Legion Arms alongside new bosses, enemies and locations.
Where are Battle Memories and Death March?
Complete any ending, then access both modes through the Hotel Stargazer.
