Dragonwilds 1.0 Materials: Runite, Luminite and Upgrade Prep

Check the tools and stations Jagex names for the 1.0 material tier before farming the wrong resource.

Direct answer: For runite and luminite, Jagex's 1.0 notes require an Adamant Pickaxe; Magic Wood requires a Rune Logging Axe. Runic Powder uses the Grindstone, and Disordent Residue drops from Raid enemies. Check these tool gates and the Nightmare Crucible before planning repeated late-game trips.

Do this first

  1. 01
Name the material or upgrade you are actually missing.
  2. 02
Equip the Adamant Pickaxe before hunting runite or luminite.
  3. 03
Use a Rune Logging Axe for Magic Wood.
  4. 04
Check the Grindstone for Runic Powder and Raid enemies for Disordent Residue.
  5. 05
Compare a Nightmare Crucible upgrade with crafting a new weapon before the next raid.

Match material to tool

The 1.0 update says runite and luminite require an Adamant Pickaxe. Magic Wood requires a Rune Logging Axe. If a deposit or tree does not yield what you expected, check the equipped tool tier first.

This is a confirmed gating rule, not a complete map of resource spawn points. The official article does not provide a universal farming circuit or precise yield rates.

Separate station and enemy drops

Jagex lists Runic Powder at the Grindstone and Disordent Residue from Raid enemies. Those are different acquisition tasks; searching the open region for both as if they were loose ore wastes time.

Before leaving the Hub, check whether the next item depends on a station you can use there or enemies in the no-build Raid area. Pack accordingly.

Reconsider older favorite weapons

The Nightmare Crucible offers materials that can raise lower Power Level weapons toward the late-game challenge. The existence of an upgrade path does not establish one universally best weapon.

Check current upgrade requirements in your own version. Bring the resource that blocks the next upgrade rather than farming every 1.0 material without a target.

Prepare the next attempt as a loop

Identify the deficit after an attempt, gather with the right tool, use the relevant station or upgrade path, and return only when that gap is solved. The loop remains useful even if balance changes in a later patch.

Exact recipes, damage comparisons and route coordinates are deliberately absent here because Jagex's launch notes do not substantiate them.
