Do this first
- 01Confirm this world is still pre-Hardmode.
- 02Finish needed housing, storage and quick return routes.
- 03Take equipment and supplies for the Wall of Flesh attempt.
- 04Defeat the boss only when ready for a permanent world transition.
- 05Afterward, inspect the new world state and prepare for stronger enemies.
Know the transition trigger
The official Wiki describes defeating the Wall of Flesh as the switch from pre-Hardmode to Hardmode. This is a world-level change; it is not a difficulty menu you can simply turn off afterward.
Do not rush that fight merely to check off a boss. Confirm whether friends sharing the world understand the transition and whether you want to finish any lower-risk preparation first.
Prepare the existing world
Make housing and storage convenient, keep a route home and organize useful supplies before the fight. The goal is not to guarantee immunity; it is to reduce the cost of a changed environment.
Check your actual character's equipment and movement options. An old general progression chart cannot guarantee the best tool or exact boss order for every current version.

Stage the Wall of Flesh attempt
Choose an approach that gives room to move and a way to recover after a failed attempt. Bring sufficient ammunition or mana supplies for your chosen weapon and a clear plan for returning to the staging point.
The official Wiki explains the transition and early Hardmode consequences; this guide intentionally avoids unverified kill-time estimates or a fixed arena blueprint.
Re-evaluate after victory
Hardmode introduces new threats and changes to the world. Revisit travel safety, mining access and the next equipment goal rather than taking the exact old path through dangerous areas.
Use the dedicated current Hardmode guide for the next stage. If you play with friends, share the new world state before someone logs in expecting the old enemy pressure.
