What happened
Rockstar published a new GTA Online weekly event on August 27 centred on Random Transform Races.
The new routes switch players through land, sea and air vehicles or through a predetermined roster depending on the race type.
The practical change: Use the 6X window first if the named races match your playlist, then move to the broader 3X Random Transform set.
What is confirmed
- Three Known Unknown races cycle through a predetermined vehicle roster around Redwood Lights Track, Elysian Island and Grand Senora Desert.
- Two Unknown Unknown races use changing land, sea and air vehicles.
- Random Transform Races pay triple GTA$ and RP during the event.
- A special weekend bonus increases select race rewards to six times the normal amount.
- Rockstar also adds Drift Tuning upgrades to three vehicles.
What this means for players
The shortest high-value route is the limited 6X playlist, but it is useful only while the weekend window is active.
Unknown Unknown races reward adaptability because the next vehicle class is not fixed in the same way as Known Unknown races.
What is still unconfirmed
The announcement does not guarantee identical earnings for every player because final payouts still depend on race completion and event timing.
What to do next
- 01Check the in-game event panel for the current 6X playlist before joining a standard race.
- 02Use Known Unknown races when you prefer a predictable vehicle sequence.
- 03Do not purchase a vehicle solely for Drift Tuning until the eligible model list is visible in your game client.
