What happened

EA published the notes September 15 for the September 16 update.

The patch applies Franchise fixes to existing leagues.

The practical change: Install the update, preserve a league backup where available and test one existing save before changing sliders or house rules.

What is confirmed

  • Coverage and contested-catch behavior are retuned.
  • Free agency and contract logic are adjusted.
  • Online league disconnect and lockout cases are addressed.
  • CPU salary-cap recovery remains on EA's radar.

What this means for players

Existing leagues receive the fixes without a forced restart.

Unfinished on-radar items should not be reported as fixed.

What is still unconfirmed

The notes do not prove every legacy league or matchmaking failure is eliminated.

What to do next

  1. 01
    Record the current league state.
  2. 02
Apply the update and test advancing one week.
  3. 03
Report remaining failures with the mode and save context.
