Do this first
- 01Finish the Ragnarök story first if avoiding spoilers matters.
- 02Install the free Valhalla add-on or confirm it is included on PC.
- 03Use Valhalla for its separate replayable combat structure.
- 04Start New Game Plus from a completed save for a story replay.
- 05Keep the completed base-game save instead of overwriting it immediately.
Separate the two modes
PlayStation describes New Game Plus as another run through the story with more gameplay options, a higher level cap, new equipment and progression paths.
Valhalla is a free add-on that blends Ragnarök combat with roguelite elements in a separate reflective journey. They are not two names for the same save loop.
Choose the story order
The Valhalla store page states that all owners may begin it, but recommends completing Ragnarök first to avoid spoilers.
If story continuity matters, keep that order. If combat practice matters more and spoilers are accepted, the software permits earlier access.

Protect the completed save
Keep the finished base-game record before creating a New Game Plus file or entering a separate mode. It remains the clean boundary for unfinished favors, equipment checks and another post-game start.
Confirm the target save and slot at each prompt. A post-game option should expand choices, not erase the only known-good completion record.
Choose by the next task
Use New Game Plus when the goal is to replay the authored campaign with expanded equipment and progression. Use Valhalla when the goal is repeated combat decisions and a standalone post-story structure.
Neither mode is required to validate the original completion. Start the one that answers the next player task instead of forcing both into one checklist.
