Monster Hunter Wilds Current Update

Ver. 1.042 is the August 2026 update line. It adds Prologue Demo save transfer, makes the then-current Event and Challenge Quest catalogue playable offline, improves quest sorting and fixes several hunt and PC issues.

Current version: Ver. 1.042 update line

Monster Hunter Wilds Ver. 1.042.00.00 released on August 4, 2026. The base download was approximately 3.5 GB, or approximately 5.5 GB with the High Resolution Texture Pack. You need the latest version to use online multiplayer and downloadable content.

What “offline Event Quests” does and does not mean

The update changed how the existing quest catalogue is accepted. It does not merge every reward pool, remove rank requirements or guarantee that a newly announced future quest is already installed.

    Restart the platform client if the title screen still shows an older update line.

    Open the Event Quest list

    Available quests should now appear at the top, reducing the need to scroll through locked entries.

    Offline availability does not bypass Hunter Rank, mission or prior-clear requirements.

    Use the quest page for the hunt

    For HR100 content, continue to the Gogmazios guide or the Arkveld guide.

PC checks before blaming the build

The official notes recommend NVIDIA GeForce 581.57 or newer and AMD Radeon 25.9.1 or newer for the most stable experience. They also warn of identified issues with some AMD Radeon cards on driver versions 25.10.2 and higher.

  • Confirm the game version: record the full number displayed on the title screen.
  • Confirm the driver: compare the installed version with the current official recommendation for your GPU.
  • Separate network from performance: an outdated build blocks multiplayer; it does not explain every frame-time problem.
  • Retest one controlled hunt: use the same area, graphics preset and frame cap before comparing performance.

What content is current after the major updates

Ver. 1.042 is primarily an access, demo-transfer and fixes update—not a new-monster Title Update. The major content line concluded with the February 2026 update, which made Arch-tempered Arkveld permanent and added the first-anniversary content. Gogmazios remains the central HR100 endgame hunt introduced in Title Update 4.

Is Ver. 1.042 the latest Monster Hunter Wilds update?

It is the current update line as of this review. The complete point build may differ after a platform hotfix, so use the title screen and current platform notice for the final digits.

Can I play all Event Quests offline?

The 25 Event and Challenge Quests available when Ver. 1.042 shipped were made playable offline. This statement does not automatically describe future content added after the patch.

Will demo progress overwrite my full-game save?

The official condition says transfer is available when no full-version save data exists. Back up important saves and do not assume the transfer will merge two progress files.
