Devout Edition: What Is Included?

Direct answer

The Devout Edition bundles the base game with the exclusive Obsidian skin set for all eight playable Shells. It does not list a separate story expansion or gameplay advantage.

This guide separates official facts, independently cross-checked launch information and field-testing advice. Patch-sensitive costs, drop rates and damage values are omitted unless the current build and accessible evidence agree.

Quick route

01
Choose Standard if you only want the full base game.
02
Choose Devout if the eight Obsidian Shell appearances justify the difference.
03
Check your platform store for the current regional price.
04
Do not treat cosmetic skins as combat bonuses.

Confirmed Devout contents

Official Steam and Xbox listings describe the same core bundle: Mortal Shell II plus an exclusive Obsidian skin set for all eight playable Shells.

The named skins cover Tiel, Proxima, Genessa, Lazlo, Smert, Eredrim, Sariel and Gragu. They change appearance, not the route needed to find and develop those Shells.

What is not promised

The reviewed official listings do not advertise an extra campaign, exclusive boss, stronger weapon, early progression boost or gameplay-only Shell. Do not buy the edition expecting a mechanical shortcut.

Upgrade and platform checks

Edition names, upgrade paths and pricing can vary by store and region. Open the listing for the platform account that will own the game and verify whether it is a full bundle or an add-on before paying.

Simple buying decision

If cosmetics do not matter, Standard contains the game. If you plan to rotate all eight Shells and want the Obsidian look, Devout is the relevant bundle. Any higher edition should be judged from its current official store contents, not a pre-release comparison video.
