Space Marine 2 Chaos Siege Rules, Rewards and Unlocks: What Is Confirmed

Check the confirmed Chaos Siege launch date, Avarax sectors, playable faction and enemies without importing unconfirmed rewards or economy rules from the existing Siege mode.

Official September preview of the Chaos Siege battlefield on Avarax
Official September Chaos Siege battlefield preview from Focus Entertainment; work-in-progress footage remains subject to change.

Direct answer

Chaos Siege is scheduled to arrive with Patch 15 on October 1, 2026. Players control Heretic Astartes on Avarax against Tyranid and Imperial forces, including Space Marines. Focus confirms two sectors for the announced version and says a third is already in development. The final player count, wave milestones, point costs, shared progression, unlock requirement and reward list are still unpublished.

Evidence boundary: The September Community Update confirms the date, faction, enemy envelope and two-sector scope, but labels the footage work in progress. It does not publish a complete Chaos Siege rules or reward table, so current loyalist Siege mechanics remain context rather than guarantees.

Do this first

  1. 01
Plan for the October 1 Patch 15 release, but verify the live 15.x client before looking for the mode.
  2. 02
Expect two announced Avarax sectors; do not treat the in-development third sector as a launch promise.
  3. 03
Do not grind a guessed level, currency or Operation to unlock Chaos Siege.
  4. 04
Use the final Patch Notes 15.0 and live menu to confirm entry, player count, progression and rewards.
  5. 05
Keep current loyalist Siege tactics as general practice, not as proof of Chaos Siege's economy or wave rules.

What October 1 is confirmed to include

The September Community Update ties Chaos Siege to Patch 15 on October 1. Players control Heretic Astartes on Avarax, fight Tyranids and Imperial forces including Space Marines, and receive the previously announced Cultist, Ritualist and deployable Helbrute support.

Focus says the announced version has two sectors and that a third is already in development. The third sector has no release date, so it must not be counted as October 1 content.

  • Release: Patch 15 on October 1, 2026
  • Playable side: Heretic Astartes
  • Map: Avarax with two announced sectors
  • Enemies: Tyranids and Imperial forces
  • Support: Cultists, Ritualists and a deployable Helbrute
  • Third sector: in development, not dated

Current Siege is context, not a copied ruleset

The live Siege mode introduced in Patch 8 is a free three-player PvE mode on Kadaku. It uses increasingly difficult waves, earns points for completed waves, spends them at Requisition Terminals and moves to another sector every five waves. Class and weapon progression is shared with Operations according to the official launch material.

Those facts describe current loyalist Siege. Focus has not yet said which of them Chaos Siege retains. A familiar name and wave format do not establish identical points, sectors, team size or progression.

Rewards and unlocks remain unknown

The September update does not name a required account level, mission clear, difficulty, DLC purchase or Season Pass for Chaos Siege. It also does not list armour, weapons, currency, accolades, achievements or cosmetics as Chaos Siege rewards.

Any guide publishing those answers before the final notes is either repeating a test build or guessing. MonsterSnow will keep the fields pending until Focus states them in a versioned release source.

What to check on launch day

Confirm that the client shows version 15.x, then check whether Chaos Siege appears in the same menu as Siege, whether private play and bots are supported, and whether every platform receives it. Verify progression, currency, reward conditions and failure-state payout from the final notes and the live mode.

Do not publish damage breakpoints, Helbrute uptime, optimal purchases or class rankings without direct test evidence. They are performance claims, not conclusions that can be drawn from the preview text.
