Endemic life answer: 68 Capture Net entries, plus 20 aquatic entries

The Endemic Life Field Guide contains 68 species in the current base-game set. Aquatic Life is tracked separately with 20 species. Start by clearing region-exclusive entries, then use Rest to cycle environment and time for rare variants.

Do not count Starduster as a fish. It appears over water, but it is a Capture Net endemic-life entry. The two field guides together contain 88 unique checklist entries.

Area numbers are the player-facing in-game coordinates. They are reliable target areas, not a promise that a random spawn will appear on every visit. Use the listed environment and time before resetting the route.

Rare-target route after the common checklist

RegionTargets to check deliberatelyRoute decision
Windward PlainsBlack Windrustler, Hymstrigian, SandstarCheck packs and nocturnal desert routes; Sandstar is highly alert, so approach control matters.
Scarlet ForestDazzlewing, Regal Jewel Scarab, Gold HercudromeRecheck bright vegetation, trunks and insect routes after changing the environment.
Oilwell BasinAzure Rufflizard, Peony Sparklerjelly, Nu YayaSeparate hot Firespring routes from dark cave and oil-silt routes.
Iceshard CliffsDowny CrakeScan small-monster backs and high-contrast snow routes before fast traveling away.
Ruins of WyveriaGillopod, Xu Yo, Prism HercudromeCheck vertical layers and ancient interior routes; the correct area number can still be on another floor.
Rare does not mean guaranteed by the right weather. The correct region and state only make the spawn eligible. If the target is absent, reset and rerun the same short route.

Capture and reset method

  1. 01
    Check the missing name.

Open Info → Monster Field Guide → Endemic Life Field Guide. Work from the missing entry instead of sweeping every map again.

  2. 02
    Choose one listed region.

Pin the likely creature or nearby point of interest on the map and let the Seikret handle the long approach.

  3. 03
    Set environment and time.

Rest at camp when the target depends on Plenty, Fallow, Inclemency, day or night.

  4. 04
Equip the Capture Net before approaching.

Use the aim indicator to confirm range. Crouch or use concealment when an alert creature reacts to the hunter.

  5. 05
    Verify the field-guide registration.

Do not treat a sighting or missed net as completion. Confirm the named entry after the capture.

Endemic life FAQ

Does seeing a creature complete the entry?

No. Capture it successfully and confirm that the named entry appears in the Endemic Life Field Guide.

Why does the correct region still show nothing?

Region is only the broad boundary. Environment, time, map layer and spawn chance can still block the target. Rest, verify the state and repeat a short route.

Are aquatic creatures included in the 68?

No. The 20 aquatic entries are tracked separately. Use the fishing guide for their areas, lures and capture method.

Sources and verification limits

Completeness method: all 68 unique names, map areas, weather and time rows were reconciled against three independently maintained public field lists, then count and spelling were checked automatically. Competing guide sites are not linked from MonsterSnow. Exact micro-spawns can still vary, so the page does not invent one permanent pin for every creature.
