Star Wars Zero Company Operators & Classes

Treat every Operator as a tactical answer, not a collectible portrait. Start with confirmed archetypes and customization, then test how each specialty changes access, control, finishing power or recovery.

What is officially confirmed?

Hawks is a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company. The squad can include authored Operators and recruited custom Operators. EA names archetypes ranging from scoundrels and astromechs to a Clone Trooper, Mandalorian, Umbaran and Jedi Padawan.

This launch archive separates confirmed official facts from editorial tactical advice. Unverified ability values, mission rewards, exact enemy statistics and definitive tier lists are not invented.

Separate identity from battlefield job

Species, appearance and story identity do not automatically reveal a complete tactical role. The released game uses eight standard Specializations: Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter and Soldier. Hawks and recruited Custom Operators can change Specializations; Authored Operators may have fixed Talents or Specializations.

An Operator's useful job is the problem their weapon, ability and AP spend solve on the current map—not their portrait or species.

Use a four-role field test

Record which repeated problem an Operator solves reliably. Place that result under access, control, finish or recovery. One Operator may cover two roles, but the primary role should be the reason they enter the mission.

Access
Creates a route, reveals a target or reaches the mission objective safely.
Control
Suppresses the most dangerous action or protects the lane the squad must hold.
Finish
Converts an opening into a removed priority threat without collapsing the next turn.
Recovery
Restores health, position, cover or tempo when the opening plan fails.
A role is proven by a mission outcome.

Do not label an Operator “best” from one ability card. Compare objective access, safe actions, resource cost and the next enemy turn.

Bonds are part of the build

EA confirms that Operators improve their skills during missions, learn to work together and unlock new combat synergies. Evaluate pairs over repeated deployments, not only isolated ability cards.

A useful pair must create an opening and still leave the squad with cover, AP or a recovery answer for the enemy turn.

What can be customized?

Official information confirms combat specialization and appearance customization for Hawks, plus species, voices, outfits, loadouts and abilities for custom Operators. Named species include Devaronian, Human, Togruta, Twi'lek and Zabrak. Cosmetic options should not be confused with tactical power.

Operator FAQ

Are there custom characters?

Yes. EA confirms recruited custom Operators as well as authored squad members.

Is there one best Operator?

No official source establishes a universal best Operator. Mission objective, squad synergy, difficulty settings and the current build all change the answer.

What is the common selection mistake?

Adding another finisher when the squad actually lacks objective access, threat control or a safe recovery action.

Can bonds change combat?

Yes. Official material says squad members unlock new combat synergies as they learn to work together.
