Stardew Valley Greenhouse: Layouts, Sprinklers & Best Crops

Restore the Greenhouse, water all 120 crop tiles efficiently, place up to 18 fruit trees and choose crops by seed access, labor and processing capacity.

Direct answer: Restore the Greenhouse by completing every Pantry bundle or buying the 35,000g Joja Greenhouse project. Crops grow year-round but still need water; scarecrows are unnecessary. A standard six-Iridium-Sprinkler layout waters all 120 soil tiles while using 4 crop tiles, leaving 116 planted crops, and the outer border can hold up to 18 fruit trees with correct spacing.

Do this first

  1. 01
Complete all Pantry bundles, or buy the 35,000g Joja Greenhouse project.
  2. 02
Clear the 10-by-12 soil bed and choose a watering plan before planting rare seeds.
  3. 03
Use six Iridium Sprinklers for a simple full-coverage layout; four occupy crop tiles.
  4. 04
Plant fruit trees around the outer border with two clear tiles between trunks and avoid corner failures.
  5. 05
Match regrowing crops to actual Keg, Preserves Jar and harvesting capacity.

Five workable Greenhouse plans

The Greenhouse is a constrained 120-tile production room, not a universal-profit answer. Choose the plan whose seeds, harvest rhythm and processors already exist in the save.

01

Six Iridium Sprinklers

Simple full-bed automation

Water all 120 soil tiles with six sprinklers; four stand inside the crop bed and two use the border.

ConstraintLeaves 116 crop tiles because four soil positions hold sprinklers.

02

Eighteen fruit trees

Passive fruit around the border

Use the perimeter outside the crop bed with two clear tiles between trunks; mature trees can coexist with border decorations afterward.

ConstraintTrees cannot be planted in the corners and need clear growth space until mature.

03

Regrowing crop block

Low replanting labor

Fill most soil with a crop that keeps producing after the first harvest.

ConstraintA crop is only valuable if seeds are available and harvest or processing capacity can keep up.

04

Mixed ingredient beds

Cooking, gifts and quests

Reserve labeled rows for recipe ingredients, loved gifts and recurring requests regardless of outdoor season.

ConstraintLower theoretical profit buys flexibility and fewer emergency planting cycles.

05

Seed and processing pipeline

Self-supplied production

Keep a small rotation for Seed Makers and harvest only what Kegs or Preserves Jars can accept.

ConstraintMachines outside the Greenhouse still determine the real throughput.

Restore the room through one progression route

On the Community Center route, complete every Pantry bundle. On the Joja route, purchase the 35,000g Greenhouse development. The restored building contains a 10-by-12 tillable bed and an outer non-crop border.

After restoration, Robin can move the Greenhouse like other farm buildings. Moving the structure does not require rebuilding the crop plan, but check the destination before committing the farm layout.

Automate watering without losing the border

Greenhouse crops grow in every season but still require watering. Rain does not water indoor crops. Sprinklers work normally, including placements on supported edge tiles around the soil bed.

The common six-Iridium-Sprinkler pattern uses four soil tiles and two border positions, watering all 120 crop spaces while leaving 116 positions plantable. Scarecrows are not required because crows do not attack inside.

Place fruit trees before decorating

Up to 18 fruit trees fit around the outer edge without using the crop bed. Leave the eight surrounding tiles clear while each sapling grows, keep two tiles between trunks and do not attempt the unusable corner positions.

Once mature, each fruit tree produces one fruit per day, allowing 18 trees to yield 54 fruit every three days. Add flooring or decorations only after growth is complete so a blocked sapling does not silently stall.

Choose crops by the real bottleneck

Ancient Fruit is popular because it regrows and pairs with Kegs, while Starfruit offers high-value single harvests when seeds and replanting are available. Neither is automatically best for a farm without the matching seed supply or processing line.

A mixed Greenhouse can be stronger early: keep cooking ingredients, gift crops, quest items and one seed-production row, then allocate the remaining space to the best-supported repeat crop.

Avoid three common layout mistakes

Do not assume year-round growth means no watering. Do not place temporary objects inside a fruit sapling's growth ring. Do not fill 116 crop tiles with a harvest that overwhelms the available Kegs, Jars or player time.

Treat the Greenhouse as a stable weekly system. A slightly smaller layout that is watered, harvested and processed on schedule produces more usable value than a maximum-capacity diagram the save cannot maintain.
