Direct answer

Mortal Shell II has 11 Ruk map fragments: five in Fainweald and six in Mammon. Collecting a fragment reveals regional geography, while nearby Beacons control the usable checkpoint and travel network. Track both separately with the checklist below.

This guide separates official facts, independently cross-checked launch information and field-testing advice. Patch-sensitive costs, drop rates and damage values are omitted unless the current build and accessible evidence agree.

Quick route

  1. 01
Start Fainweald from Widow's Overlook and take Ruk's first nearby fragment.
  2. 02
Continue through Blackridge Pass, One-Legged Wolf, Citadel of Penance and Outskirts of Nochte.
  3. 03
Start Mammon from Outskirts of Mammon, then mark High Lord's Courtyard before the deeper castle route.
  4. 04
Pair every fragment with the nearest tagged or cleansed Beacon and one unmistakable landmark.
  5. 05
Use the separate fast-travel guide if a discovered Beacon does not yet accept travel.

Track all 11 Ruk fragments

Check each named anchor as you confirm it in your own route. The two regional totals expose a missed fragment without confusing map discovery with Beacon travel.

Progress stays in this open page only. A checked box records your run; it does not change the in-game map or cleanse a Beacon.

Fainweald fragment route

Use five named anchors for the Fainweald maps: Widow's Overlook, Blackridge Pass, One-Legged Wolf, Citadel of Penance and Outskirts of Nochte. Mushroom Village and its gate remain useful Beacons between those fragment stops.

Tiel, Proxima and Gragu routes overlap this circuit, so combine a Shell objective with the nearest map instead of making a separate full-region run.

  • Map 1 — near Widow's Overlook.
  • Map 2 — Blackridge Pass route.
  • Map 3 — One-Legged Wolf route.
  • Map 4 — Citadel of Penance route.
  • Map 5 — Outskirts of Nochte route.

Mammon fragment route

Mammon begins at the pre-cleansed Outskirts Beacon. The next reliable map anchor is High Lord's Courtyard; deeper fragments then follow the castle, Castigator's Keep, Gate of Infinity and Abbey Entrance routes.

Record the lift, bell, cliff crossing or traversal gate beside each Ruk. Mammon's vertical paths make a Beacon name alone less useful than it is in Fainweald.

  • Map 1 — Outskirts of Mammon.
  • Map 2 — High Lord's Courtyard.
  • Map 3 — deeper castle route beyond the Gate of Mammon circuit.
  • Map 4 — Castigator's Keep.
  • Map 5 — Gate of Infinity.
  • Map 6 — Abbey Entrance.

Map fragments are not fast travel

A fragment reveals geography; it does not automatically activate travel. A Beacon must be discovered, and corrupted Beacons must be cleansed where required, before the route works as a dependable checkpoint.

If the map is visible but travel is missing, check the Beacon state and Marrow Keep progression rather than searching for another fragment.

Make the beacon map usable

For every stop, write four things: the nearest Beacon, the first directional change, one unmistakable landmark and any traversal condition. This is enough to reproduce the route without turning it into a wall of story spoilers.

Before entering a dungeon, tag the closest Beacon and verify the return path. A complete-looking world map is not a substitute for a safe checkpoint network.

Mortal Shell II map fragment questions

How many map fragments are in Mortal Shell II?

There are 11 Ruk map fragments in this route: five in Fainweald and six in Mammon.

Do map fragments unlock fast travel?

No. A fragment reveals regional map information. Fast travel depends on discovering the relevant Beacon, cleansing it where required and reaching the necessary progression state.

Why can I see the map but not use a Beacon?

The Beacon may be discovered but still corrupted, or the required Marrow Keep progression may be incomplete. Check the Beacon state before searching for another fragment.

What is the easiest way to track every fragment?

Record the nearest named Beacon, the first directional change, one unmistakable landmark and any traversal condition for every Ruk. The interactive checklist keeps the five-plus-six regional totals visible.
